The institute has been authorized by the State Council Academic Degree Committee to offer Ph. D. degree degree program in the marine science of marine biology, physical oceanography, marine geology and marine chemistry and environmental science; and Master degree in other 8 minor's disciplines. The IOCAS is the key education base for postdoctoral and Ph. D. programs of marine science in China.
