The 22ND Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC-22ND, another name China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation), founded in 1963. It is one of the major international radiowave research institutes of national level in China. The institute staff is over 1300, including one academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 40 researchers and over 300 senior engineers.
CETC-22 has been dedicated to the research and development of petroleum electronics with a history of over twenty-eight years. Since the very beginning of development of Acoustic and MSFL in 1980's, CETC-22 started from scratch, up to now is able to provide digital well logging surface system, full series downhole equipments and mud logging unit. CETC-22 is more and more mature in this field.
CETC-22 has established a whole research, development and production system of petroleum electronics products by Petroleum Electronics Department. There are more than 200 employees in the department and most of them have over 15 years' experience in wireline logging equipment and mud logging unit design and production. The department is supported by company owned manufacturing plant and electronic assembly workshops. Its major business covers production of primary four series of petroleum electronics with over 100 products, including open hole tools, wireline logging surface system, mud logging units and EM-MWD logging tools. CETC-22 has grown to be one of the biggest suppliers with full lines of petroleum electronics in China. Most of the Chinese wireline logging and mud logging companies are customers of CETC-22.
