Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (UCLL) is a manufacturing cum trading organization for chemicals & allied products specialized in synthetic latex polymer dispersions. UCLL is a public quoted company listed in the Colombo stock exchange with an annual turnover of SLR 500 million. The Factory complex is located very close to country's biggest industrial site called Ekala industrial estate which is situated 20 Km away from the Colombo city and in very close proximity to Katunayake International Airport & head office is at Colombo.

Our company began its chemical manufacturing operation in 1984 under Union Carbide Ceylon Ltd, which was then, operating the Eveready battery manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka. We remained as an affiliate of Union Carbide Corporation after UCC divested itself from the battery business until year 2000. After Dow chemical's acquisition of Union Carbide Corporation we became a representative of Dow Chemicals for selected products and were renamed as Union Chemicals Lanka Ltd. In 2003 November, Dow divested itself from Union Chemicals Lanka Ltd and we became a 100% local company.

UCLL being the pioneering organisation in manufacture of Latex polymer dispersions, we cater to a wide variety of industries in Sri Lanka that includes Paints, Packaging, Laminating, Rubber and Latex, Textiles etc. Our range of products comprises aqueous based latex of vinyl acetate Homo polymers, vinyl-acrylic, styrene-acrylic and all acrylic co-polymers. In addition to above we formulate silicone emulsions and Defoamer. UCLL represents Dow Chemicals PLC for a range of products and also act as the representative for Momentive Performances & Macropolymer Pte Ltd., India.

Our manufacturing capacity comprise of 4500 MT Adhesives, Paint binders and Textile printing binders per annum. We have our own R&D facility equipped with state of the art testing instruments and qualified scientists, working on product development, process improvement and in-house testing & quality assurance services.
