Shanghai JingQi POLymer Science Co., Ltd. (SJPS) is a joint venture of Wujing Chemical Co., Ltd. And US investers in Shanghai. Wujing ChemicaI Co., Ltd. Belongs to the Shanghai Huayi (group) company which is an asset holding and investment company by the Shanghai government. The new JV company (SjPS) is established in September, 2002for the purpose of production of optical grade PMMA molding compound.

PMMA is abbreviation of polymethyl methacylate and is a kind of acrylic resin. PMMA can be polymerized by emulsion, suspention, bulk and solution process. Due to high energy cost and water pollution, emultion and suspension are not popular for commercial production. In addition, bulk and solution without contamination of emulsifiers and suspension agent can provide better purity and clarity for optical application.

Maxiglas is regisered trade name of the product. The merits of the process are:

1. Continuous on line purification of monomers with highest purity and clarity 2. Special devolatilization know how with lowest volatile content to enhance transparency and improve yellowing. All these will avoid uncomfortable emission in customer operation environment.

Production capacity of the company is 20, 000MT/year with additional space for expansion. Polymerization process is Continuous Mass Polymerization by MY(Mark Yang) technology.
