CLETC mainly engages in domestic and overseas project contracting, foreign labor service co-operation, foreign economic aid projects of the government, import and export of assembly equipment and other commodities, domestic and overseas exhibitions, domestic and overseas industrial investment and foreign consulting service. The company has three wholly-owned subsidiaries and six joint stock companies in China, and two sugar making companies controlled by it in the Republic of Mali in West Africa. Besides, the company also has set up branches in many countries in the world.

As a main company undertaking the foreign investment, foreign project contracting and other relevant overseas businesses of SINOLIGHT, CLETC is one of the earliest Chinese enterprises obtaining the rights of international project contracting, foreign labor service co-operation and foreign exhibitions and other operational qualifications and received the certification of ISO9001: 2000 quality management system in 2002 and the certification of UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) in 2006.
