The activated carbon project of Shenhua Xinjiang Energy Co., Ltd is located at Urumqi Ganquanbao Industrial Park. The industrial park is situated 23 kilometers north of Midong District, Urumqi, namely the crossroads of Midong District, Fukang City, Wujiaqu City and Changji Urban Planning and Construction. Designed in line with the international advanced level, it will be a demonstration project for domestics industrial upgrading. It is innovative both in R&D and risk management. Besides, it will be the first large-scale production line for agglomerated activated carbon in China.
1. Basic facts of the activated carbon project
As an environmental friendly material, the activated carbon is mainly used for drinking water and waste water treatment, air purification, flue gas desulfurization, mercury removal and sugar, gourmet powder and food manufacturing.
As planned, this project will produce 120, 000 ton of activated carbon each year. With an estimated investment of 425 million Yuan, 20, 000 ton will be produced during the first phase. The 12th five-year plan will witness an overall project construction.
2. Technique features
Adopting such techniques as briquetting, thermal oxidizing, carbonizing, MHF activation, waste heat recovering, exhaust gas desulfurization and dust processing, it enjoys the first serial production line from raw material introduction to product packaging. Starting from a high level and standard, this project emphasizes energy saving and environmental protection.
3. Waste heat recovered for power generation, exhaust gas desulfurization and dust processing
The waste heat will be recovered after burning the charring exhaust and active exhaust. There are three medium-pressure steam boilers of 20 ton and a power generation set of 12, 000 KW, which can effectively recover energy and reduce consumption. Semi-dry desulfurization and bag-type dust collector will be adopted for the exhaust to prevent environment pollution.
4. Serial production line and high automation
In China, this project is the first serial production line from raw material introduction to product packaging, with a DCS centralized control system.
5. Low-ash and high-quality coal guaranteed by Shenhua Xinjiang Energy Co., Ltd
The large fine-quality coal mine owned by Shenhua guarantees the quality of agglomerated activated carbon and Shenhua Xinjiang Energy Co., Ltd will supply low-ash and high-quality coal in a long term.
We stick to energy-saving and consumption- reducing principle, and follow out sustainable development and recycling economy concept, trying to achieve a balance between economic construction and environmental protection. When the project finished, it will be the largest activated carbon plant with the most advanced technology in China.
