Nextronics Engineering Corp. was established in 1987 as a professional connector company. In 1998, Nextronics became a subcontract manufacturer of connectors in variety, including Board-to-board connectors, Power connectors, I/O connector, Terminal Block connectors, and many others. Also in 1998, Nextronics won the Seventh National Award of Small and Medium Enterprises in Taiwan. Nextronics then quickly accomplished Vertical Integration for connectors in September 1999. The connector core competance including tool making, molding, stamping, plating, and assembling. Since then, for connector, Nextronics has mainly focusd in subcontract manufacturing and OEM business.

Along with the company's success in connector field, Nextronics also started its backplane business in 1990. Qucikly, Nextronics has emerged to one of the top backplane assembly houses in Taiwan. With its ability to perform function tests and connector protection accessories, Nextronics provides the top services and the best qualities.

With the company's increasing demand for higher capacity and lower costs, Nextronics established its first manufacturing facility in main land China. In late 90's, Nextronics has started to concentrate its connector business in the China facility and let Taiwan Headquarter mainly focused on backplane business, customer service, and logistic service.

To ensure the company's service and quality, Nextronics is also ISO 9001 and ISO 2000 certified in both Taiwan (1997) and China Mainland (2000). On top of that, Nextronics has also joined PICMG and PXI Systems Alliance to enhance its backplane and system packaging product quality.
