Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH had its humble beginnings as a repair shop for farm equipment. Josef Grenzebach, the father of the Chairman of the Board Rudolf Grenzebach, opened the shop in 1920.

The first steps led to the production of gravel transportation conveyor belts and gravel processing plants.
Towards the end of the 70's, an electronics department was gradually developed, representing a decisive supplement to the mechanical engineering.
Later, processing plants were developed for the production of cheese in dairies, or for the furniture industry.
In the mid-70's, Grenzebach entered into flat glass production technology, which is still one of the pillars upon which the company stands today.
Today, the electronics department develops the automation for the processing systems that are produced in mechanical engineering, contributing substantially to the good worldwide market position of Grenzebach products.
