Financing company Sponsor became the owner of Kaukomarkkinat Oy. TH Brunius & Co AB became a Kaukomarkkinat Oy subsidiary.

1989
Co-operation between Matsushita and Kaukomarkkinat in transit trade of products to the Soviet Union started.

1990
Own office opened in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) as the first Western company.

1991
Kari Ansio became Managing Director. Subsidiaries opened in Hungary and Czechoslovakia. An office opened in Johannesburg. Disposal of chemical forest industry sales companies, and abandoning of direct sales of those products and related units in Singapore, North-America, Colombia and England.

1992
A subsidiary in South-Africa.

1993
Leipurien Tukku group included in Kaukomarkkinat.

1994
Subsidiaries of Leipurien Tukku and Foreign operations established in Estonia.

1995
The Kauko Gourmet unit started operations.

1996
Kesko Corporation acquired Kaukomarkkinat Oy. For the first time, sales exceeded FIM 4 billion.

1997
So far, the best profit for the year amounting to FIM 73.3 million. Leipurien Tukku established a subsidiary in St. Petersburg.

1998
Kaukomarkkinat Oy's founder Aarne Koskelo died on 12 June 1998 at the age of 98. The Tahti Optikko chain was established. As early as the first year, the number of outlets exceeded 100. Leipurien Tukku established a subsidiary in Latvia.

Leipurien Tukku established a subsidiary in Poland.

2000
Telko Oy was included in Kaukomarkkinat. Hannu Narhi became Managing Director of Kaukomarkkinat Oy. a joint venture company of Kaukomarkkinat Ag started operations.

Intotel Oy became part of Kaukomarkkinat.

2002 Glastech Oy and Nordica AS became Kaukomarkkinat Oy's subsidiary. Kaukomarkkinat. Fi home pages reconstructed.
2003
KM-Kello Oy is founded and watch department functions are transferred to it. Kaukomarkkinat acquires swedish ASM Ab.

2004 Kaukomarkkinat Oy's subsidiary Telko Oy accuires BEA Finland Oy. Kaukomarkkinat buys NMT Prekyba UAB in Lithuania
2005 Kaukomarkkinat Oy sells KM-Kello Oy and its business in Finland and Sweden. Ralf Klarich became Managing Director.
2006 Kaukomarkkinat Oy acquires Poland's WEP Ltd. Sp. Z o. O.
