We are a specialist developer and producer of high quality medical devices focussed on the needs of anaesthesia and critical care professionals around the world.
Our proprietary technology includes the compact and versatile mcgrath® Video laryngoscope range, as well as index of consciousness patient monitoring technology. We are recognised as a founding member of, and leader in, the rapidly emerging video laryngoscope market with our mcgrath® Series 5 now sold in 35 countries around the world.
Our goal is to enhance rather than replace the skills of medical professionals, reduce patient trauma, help eliminate cross contamination, and improve communication and efficiency in the clinical training environment. Our team recognises its first responsibility is to the patients and customers who experience our products.
Our design process, material selection, supply chain management, product testing and validation are operated under ISO13485 accreditation. In 2010 we entered new expanded premises at dalgety bay, north of Edinburgh, and have a dedicated R&D subsidiary in barcelona, Spain, as well as a customer service team in the United States.
We continue to develop our medical technology intellectual property platform and have core interests in airway management and patient monitoring technologies. We are widely acknowledged as a leader in medical product design and are committed to expanding our product range and markets in the coming years, and to building a significant new brand in healthcare.
Matt mcgrath, CEO, founded aircraft medical in June 2001 after commencing work on the mcgrath® Laryngoscope project in 1999 in response to a design brief issued by the royal society of arts in London. The original prototypes for the mcgrath® Laryngoscope attracted the highest award from the rsa as recognition of outstanding design achievement. The company subsequently attracted industry awards from the Audi design foundation, the princes trust, scottish executive and scottish enterprise, and today is backed by the wellcome trust, private equity and rbs.
