GMCC is an active member of the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) and is engaged in developing and anufacturing magnetic and smart card products and related integration and applications systems; In 1997, GMCC became a member of IATA(International Air Transport Association); In 2002, GMCC became a member of ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institutes).

GMCC is also one of the national Mints for the People's Republic of China printing financial documents and packaging products. On 6 December 1993,a percentage of GMCC stocks were floated on Shanghai Stock Exchange and in so doing, it became the only listed cards manufacturer in China.In 1996 GMCC's card products were exported to clients in Australia, Holland, Finland, Japan, Singapore, HongKong, Vietnam and Srilanka. The following year, GMCC applied for and was successful in receiving ISO 9002 certification of its quality systems.
