Shanghai Automobile Import & Export Co., Ltd. (SACO), a sole subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation [Group] (SAIC), was founded in March 1985. Before SACO's establishment, our pioneers participated in the technology and commercial negotiation of Shanghai SANTANA project. After its establishment, our main mission is to import technologies and equipments for all parts suppliers of SANTANA and to participate in negotiations for establishing joint ventures. From then on, we have finished quiet a lot of effective jobs to import CKD parts for the parts suppliers of SANTANA series and BUILK series and to export products manufactured in and out of SAIC Group.

SACO now has a staff of 108. Simplified organization structure and complete functions make SACO a promising medium-size I&E company. The most precious treasure that we possess is an outstanding staff of businessmen who can deal with all kinds of complicated trade environments in the international market.

Relying on the preponderance of Shanghai automobile industry, we have been exploiting the international market with flexible and diversified trade forms for almost 20 years. Our business developed year by year, the I&E value and turnover increased tremendously, and our assets grew successively.

In 2001, we strengthened our inside administration and carried out "Satisfaction of Customers Project" which effected remarkable and improved our service level greatly. In 2003, SACO was awarded the certificate for compliance with the standard ISO9001: 2000 by China Quality Certification Center.

Our total import value reached 268. 5 million USD and export value 120 million USD in 2004.
