With the market mechanism of China's cultural and creative industry improving gradually, value generated from copyrights are garnering close attention from people in traditional industries, such as journalism, radio, film and TV, culture and recreation, and rising industries, such as digital publication, cartoon and on-line gaming. The huge potentials boost the marketability of the industry and the establishment of the necessary communication and trade platform has become the primary task of the cultural and creative industry.
Based in Beijing, Beijing International Copyright Trade Center, a forerunner in the copyright industry, is a beacon for all of China and sheds that same light throughout the world. Guided by the principles of exchange, cooperation, innovation and development, it has enriched the industry chain by developing a copyright public service platform, copyright e-Commerce platform and copyright industry aggregation platform and boosted the implementation of the "going out" strategy through holding the China International Copyright Expo.
Copyright Public Service Platform
In May, 2002, Beijing International Copyright Trade Center was registered and founded upon the formal approval of the National Copyright Administration. By building a copyright industry platform and cultivating copyright investment and financing market as its mission, the Center provides such services as copyright business consultation, promotion and presentation, registration of works, copyright agency, rights safe-guarding and protection, training, industry survey and international communications.
In February 2009, the Center was named as National Copyright Trade Base by General Administration of Press and Publication and the National Copyright Administration.
In 2008 and 2009, it successful held China International Copyright Expo, which won social recognition and established itself as a leader in the copyright industry. 500 copyright jobholders, experts and scholars from more than 40 countries attended the expositions and signed a multitude of cooperative agreements, and nearly 100 Chinese and foreign media covered the events, thus China International Copyright Expo was reputed to be the best meeting of China's copyright industry.
Copyright e-Commerce platform
The first copyright industry portal in China, which, for the first time, lets originators own their own Creative Works Safe, opens the intelligent Creative Works Bar for creative designers, provides a normalized market for copyright trade in China, and opens a window for China's copyright to join the world.

Supported by the General Administration of Press and Publication and National Copyright Administration, Beijing International Copyright Trade Center has established strategic partnership with industry organizations at home and abroad, such as WIPO, IFPI and BSA, which create favorable conditions for gathering energy from within the industry, expanding industry development, and achieving sustainable development.
In October, 2009, Ms. Wang Bin-ying, WIPO Associate Secretary General, visited Beijing International Copyright Trade Center, and the famous British economist Mr. John Hawkins readily accepted an invitation to become honorary consultants for the Center. In addition, the Center has also established friendly cooperative relationships with some international copyright authorities, such as U. S. Copyright Office director Ms. Marybeth Peters and others.
