Founded in 2002 as a subsidiary of AVIC Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI), Beijing FSW Technology Co., Ltd (China FSW Center, hereafter CFSWC) is one of the first units who began to cooperate with TWI. CFSWC maintains the omni-directional research direction throughout, has been focusing on FSW technology development and engineering application for 16 years.

For different materials and product enquired by customers, CFSWC provides comprehensive services to meet customers' different requirements, including theoretical analysis, friction stir welding technology, special equipment, large-scale manufacturing. For different requirements of material, structure and thickness, CFSWC provides FSW tools with low cost and long service life. Besides that, CFSWC also provides theory and skills training service.

At the same time of serving society, CFSWC is also committed to developing friction stir welding technology in China, has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects, including National Defense Preliminary Research Projects, Defense Advanced Research Projects, the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), High-grade CNC Machine and Basic Manufacturing Equipment Program and civil aircraft research programs, obtained one first prize and two second prize of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 12 prizes of ministerial awards, developed more than 300 sets of advanced friction stir welding equipment systems, prompts the engineering application in new generation Carrier Rocket and Missiles, fighter jets and transport aircraft, large ship and high-speed boat, new-generation radars, armorines, railway vehicles, new energy automobile, etc, cultivated a lot of professional expertise in FSW technology, and contributed our due share to the Chinese manufacturing industry.
