Spacing between tufts can be varied to produce either tight or loose pile.

PROCESS: No knots. Instead, a tufting gun is used to push loops of wool though a backing imprinted with the design YOU have chosen. When the loops are in place, a second backing is glued on. After it dries, a protective cloth backing is added. Then there's the final step: Shearing the loops on the top of the rug to create the pile. Tufted carpets are defined by the weight of the yarn and by the number of stitches.

AFFORDABILITY: Hand-tufted rugs are very affordable because they require comparagively little time to produce.

ADDED APPEAL: They resemble the more expensive hand-knotted rugs.

The Trump International Hotel and Tower in Vancouver was another adventure in exceptional tastes. The architecture was the brainchild of Arthur Erickson, world-famous Vancouver architect who died in 2009, the same year the hotel project was conceptualized. To him, "spacehas always been the spiritual dimension of architecture.

It is not the physical statement of the structure so much as what it contains that moves us. "

In our close collaboration with the Hotel's Interior Design Team, we were impressed to see how well they were in step with this philosophy, carefully matching every single team with the atmosphere, fabrics, wallpaper, and upholstery.

For us, it was an exercise in harmony.

When the Trump InternationalHotel and Tower was officially opened on February 28, 2017, it was evident it had successfully adhered to another of Architect Arthur Erickson's beliefs: " Great buildings that move the spirit have always been rare. In every case they are unique, poetic, products of the heart. "
