XED is short for Xenon Energy Discharge Lamp, which is also called HID (Xenon High intensity Discharge Lamp), its full name is xenon metal halide lamp. Its working way is: 600-900kpa high-pressure xenon and various other metal halides are injected into quartz glass tube (or updated ceramic tube), then inspiring with starting current above 18-23KV, free electrons gets enough energy from the electric field within then bulb to collide with atoms, and make them release more free electron, then cause the gas in the bulb to discharge in a snow-slide manner. Once the external electric field exits, the snow-slide discharge will keep on working, and then release electromagnetic wave, and finally reaches the purpose of gas-discharging-lighting.
