SOPO USA (Shanghai) Ltd. (The former Zhenjiang Chemical Factory) was set up in 1958. Since 1985, under the leadership of Mr. Song Qinhua, the president, the Corporation has been sticking on the policy of taking man as core of management and technology development as basis of promotion, and keeping on snowballing. It enjoys a combination of activities in the fields of science, industry, trade and service. In 1994, JIANGSU SOPO was improved based upon the Zhenjiang Chemical Factory, and the stock JIANGSU SOPO went on market in 1996. In 1997, the Corporation has been authorized as the administrative until of state-owned assets by Jiangsu Provincial Government. In 2000, it is appointed as one of the 520 More Important National Enterprises by the State Council.

The Corporation is primarily engaged in the production of chemical products, mainly including ADC blowing agent acetic acid and bleaching powder whose capacity ranks at the top in China.

Taking advantage of its technical superiority in chemical industry and cooperation with QinHua University, the Corporation is striving into the field of hi-tech, such as biochemistry, material chemistry.
