Defeng Steel Structure Testing Base was established in 2020 and is the second professional third-party testing base in China with the capability to conduct full-scale mechanical strength tests on various types of transmission line towers, including corner towers, terminal towers, communication towers, etc. Up to 1100 kV. The facility covers an area of 130 acres.

The base is in Dezhou City, Shandong Province, with high-speed rail providing access to Beijing within one hour. Defeng Steel Structure Testing Base boasts versatile foundations, capable of accommodating towers with a maximum span of 25 meters and a maximum tower height of 110 meters. It is equipped with two loading towers, both horizontally and vertically oriented, a 100-meter-high tower crane, and two gantry cranes. Covering over 10, 000 square meters of space, this facility enables synchronous multi-level tower assembly and night operations. The loading system utilizes horizontal hydraulic cylinder loading, featuring a total of 118 loading units, and can achieve remote real-time automated digital control loading, The base not only employs a multi-channel synchronous closed-loop hydraulic servo loading system, but also incorporates a test management system with complete intellectual property rights, which can achieve remote digital loading control, comprehensive monitoring of tower deformation, precise measurement of deflection and strain data, and remote real-time publication of experimental data over the internet.

Defeng Steel Structure Test Base has obtained ISO triple system certification from the international inspection group Bureau Veritas in France, as well as the CMA and CNAS certifications, earning core qualifications from authoritative inspection and testing agencies and laboratories. As the only steel structure testing station in China with the ability to provide steel structures processing support, real-type testing of transmission line towers, and integrated hotel services, the base is well-prepared to swiftly revised drawings and manufacture replacement components in the event of component damage. This not only alleviates concerns for the design institute during testing but also maximizes cost savings for the first party.
