The team is committed to research on the control of Al alloy solidification structure, seed materials and application technologies, heat-resistant and high-strength Al alloys, and new ultra-high-strength and tough Al alloy materials, as well as the development of key materials and technologies. In response to the bottlenecks, pain points, and difficult problems existing in the casting and processing of Al alloys, the team proposes seeding technology means to solve problems, break through bottlenecks, and develop heat-resistant and high-performance Al alloys.

The team consists of 17 members, including 5 professors, 1 researcher, 2 assistant researchers and 9 engineering technical personnel. One person has been selected for the "China Foundry Outstanding Contribution Award". The team has been selected as a team for the Taishan Industrial Leading Talent Innovation Project in Shandong Province, and the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology has named and awarded the talent (team) as the "Liu Xiangfa Science and Technology Leading Talent Innovation Studio".

The team undertakes the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, key, joint, and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, national 973 projects, and key and major projects of other ministries and commissions. The team has invented and developed six series of more than twenty kinds of seeding alloys such as TCB-Al, TiC-Al, AlP-Al, ABC-Al, ASC-Al, and SIP-Si, as well as heat-resistant and high-strength Al alloys, which have been promoted and applied in the manufacturing of key engine components and high-end Al alloy processing industry and exported to more than ten countries. The team The team has won many national and provincial-ministerial level awards and published more than 380 papers, authorized more than 40 national invention patents and 1 US patent, 32 of which have been transformed, and formulated 5 national and group standards.
