Shanghai Tractor & Internal Combustion Engine Corportion, a major subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry (Group) Corporation, is located at Wujiaochang industry zone in Yangpu district.

With 6350 members of staff, STEC covers a total area of 324 thousand square meters with construction area 118.95 thousand square meters. The main products of STEC are 50/65HP series middle-sized wheeled tractors, 95A series diesel engine, 4100 diesel engine, fuel injection pump, SH6600 series light coach, small and middle stamping for Shanghai Santana car, gear for motorcycle etc.

Now annual output of tractors have exceeded 20 thound sets and diesel engines are expected up to 50 thound sets. Products are manufactured in compliance with ISO9000 quality system standard. Model 495A diesel engine has won National Golden Prize for three times. SH500 tractor is awwarded as "reliable product" by Shanghai municital government and machinery industry ministry of China.

IN 1985, SH504 tractor won two items championship at an international "field days" farm tractor pulling competition held in Orange, Australia, and won gold medal prize at the China second agriculture fair in 1995. In 1995, all of corporation's main products, such as tractor, diesel engine, fuel injection pump, motorcycle gears passed ISO9000 quality system accreditation.
