Feeding
The vibrator supplied by Longbow is designed to deliver the materials to the optical sorter at the speed set by the feeding control. In the figure above, the blue points (good products) and brown points (defective materials) indicate materials. The materials slide down along the chute and then fall into the detection zone at the predictable speed.
 
Opticaling system
The Longbow optical sorter is provided with two camera cases, i.e., front and rear camera cases. Every camera in each cases is used for one module (one chute) to examine the flowing materials.
The examining of materials is carried out against the lighting background.
Various camera paths converge at the detection zone and intersect with the material flow. In the figure above, the purple lines indicate the viewing angle of two rows of camera. The zone of intersection indicates the detection zone.
The continuous image stream of materials is recorded by the cameras and then are examined by the sorting panel (in the control cabinet) of the optical sorter to sort out the defects in the material flow.
 
Nozzel 
With the compressed air nozzle, the defects in the materials are ejected out and separated from the good products by the partition (the partition shall be set at the optimum position). And then, the defects fall into the defects collector.
The good products are directly delivered into the finished products collector.
