KNX USB Interface in smart home automation system
The KNX USB Interface is designed for an intelligent building control system, which is used for facilitating communication between the PC and the KNX system.
The KNX USB Interface connects a PC to an EIB/KNX system via a USB socket type A in the front and a USB interface extension cord, in order to configure, parameterize and commission the EIB/KNX installation as well as bus monitor using the ETS (ETS3 or later) software. In the case of EIB bus length enough, the USB interface extension cord is not necessary.

2 The green LED lights up as soon as the USB interface and PC are connected and ready for operation. It flashes mean that there is communication between the USB interface and PC. The red LED lights up as soon as the USB interface and KNX bus are connected and ready for operation. It flashes mean that there is telegram traffic on the bus.

Central device control operations, light scenes, occupancy simulation and time-controlled room heating, for instance, can be implemented using the GVS KNX/EIB system. Recurring processes - such as blind control or watering of the garden - can be automatically controlled at the desired times or depending on the weather conditions.
The prerequisite for this is that the user must have already opted for a KNX/EIB installation during the planning phase. KNX/EIB is initially just a green cable that is laid flush-mounted together with the power supply. The intelligence is added later. It is hidden in the touch sensors. These devices replace the conventional switches and send control commands via the bus lines - to lights, blinds, the music system and other KNX/EIB-capable devices.
Trained electricians can implement almost any desired function. One major advantage of the KNX/EIB installation is that the system can be modified and expanded at any time. If new or other functions are desired, they can simply be programmed.

INSTALLATION FIGURE The devices are suitable for installation on the distribution boards with 35mm mounting rail which complies with DIN EN 60715 or a small box in order to facilitate quick installation of the device. Must ensure that the device operation, testing, detecting, maintenance correctly.

Installation and commissioning of the device may only be carried out by trained electricians. The relevant standards, directives, regulations and instructions must be observed when planning and implementing the electrical installation.

The device may only be operated in closed enclosures (e.g. distribution boards).
Should the device become soiled, it may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If this does not suffice, a cloth lightly moistened with soap solution may be used. On no account should caustic agents or solvents be used.

10 years in KNX Building AutomationIn order to transfer control data to all building management components, a system is required that does away with the problems of isolated devices by ensuring that all components communicate via one common language: in short, a system such as the manufacturer and application domains independent KNX Bus. This standard is based upon more than 20 years of experience in the market, amongst others with predecessor systems to KNX: EIB, EHS and BatiBUS. Via the KNX medium to which all bus devices are connected (twisted pair, radio frequency, power line or IP/Ethernet), they are able to exchange information.
