South polar lights steel (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is a FDI enterprise that was established on December 31, 2002. The registered capital is 27 million US dollars. The company is located in 298 Luo Chun Road, Luo Dian Industrial Zone, Baoshan District, Shanghai. The industrial zone is named "the fine steel processing base" by the government of Shanghai. The company occupies an area of 79, 373 square meters. The number of employees is 260. At present, the main products are pickling steel coils (1.5mm-4.5mm), cold-rolled steel coils, thick Hot-rolled galvanized steel coils (HGI, 1.5 mm-4.5mm, it has been made in the international since 1992, it is considered a kind of the new material in China). The company is one of the few fine steel processing enterprises in Shanghai. It has acquired ISO9001: 2000 certificate in July, 2007, and has obtained the accreditation of ISO14001/OHSAS18001 in November, 2007.

The Company has the advanced low energy consumption equipments, and the low-pollution equipments. These strengthen its marketing competitiveness. So SPLCO is a high efficiency company, its product quality can be positioned above the average level in the world. Equipments and production capacity: (1)one Continuous modified Sendzimir type hot-dip galvanizing line, one push-pull pickling line, and one acid regeneration plant; (2)the hot-dip galvanizing line will bring an annual capacity of 300, 000 metric tons, and the pickling line will have an annual capacity of 600, 000 metric tons. Described as follows:

(1) Continuous modified Sendzimir type hot-dip galvanizing line (No. 1 CGL)

The line adopted a NOF-Non Oxidation Furnace which was supplied by Cosmos of Japan. Its speed is 60 to 100 MPM. Currently, the annual capacity is 300, 000 metric tons. The gauge position is from 1.5 mm to 4.5mm and the width is from 600 to 1300 mm. Commonly, the new material is called HGI(Hot-roll Galvanized Iron) in the international community.

(2)Push-pull pickling line (PKL)

The entry of the line has nine-roll flattener and the exit of the line has three-roll tension leveler. The line has five acid tanks that are 11.75 meters long, and the speed can reach 120 MPM. The line will bring the annual capacity of 600, 000 metric tons. The range of the size is from 1.5 mm to 4.5mm and the width is from 600 to 1300 mm.

(3)Waste acid regeneration plant (ARP)

The company dedicates to maintain the environment and to recycle waste acid, so invests huge sum of money to install the acid regeneration plant. The plant that adopt Austrian advanced technology can process waste acid 3000L/H to regenerate acid and ferro-oxide powder.
